Community Clean-Up Success: 50 Tonnes Collected in Hackney
Last month, we partnered with Hackney Council and local community groups to organise one of the largest community clean-up events the borough has ever seen. Over 200 volunteers gave their time to help clear waste from streets, parks, and waterways across the area.
The results were staggering. In just one weekend, we collected and responsibly disposed of over 50 tonnes of waste, including fly-tipped furniture, abandoned shopping trolleys, and general litter. All collected waste was sorted and recycled wherever possible.
Events like these demonstrate the power of community action. We are committed to supporting more clean-up initiatives across London and are already planning our next event. If your community group would like to get involved, we would love to hear from you.
